Pantone Colour of the Year 2011 - Honeysuckle

It's application in Australia

Pantone has announced Honeysuckle as its colour of the year for 2011. It is a rich reddish pink that Pantone says "...is guaranteed to produce a healthy glow when worn by both men and women".

To get an idea of how Honeysuckle will be applied to fashion think of how last year's colour, turquoise, showed up through spring. Here in Australia we won't see much of this colour until spring collections hit the stores. It will appear as part of floral and other prints and in blocks of colour. This is a great colour - it's eye catching and will be great for day and night. For those who shy away from vibrant colours, try it in accessories or in prints where it is combined more muted colours.

To help you start thinking about and enjoying Honeysuckle I dusted off the Pantone colour chart and matched four shades of nail polish to Pantone’s Honeysuckle (see photo). From left to right 1. China Glaze B-Girlz (pearlescent) 2. Orly Fabulous Flamingo (pearlescent) 3. China Glaze Pink Chiffon 4. Orly Rock-On Red.
